Roncalli Catholic hosts sold-out Swing with Pride fundraiser

The Roncalli Catholic community came together to celebrate a sold-out 34th annual Swing with Pride, A. Len Leavitt Memorial Golf Open at The Players Club at Deer Creek in Omaha on Monday, July 25.

The event is a long-standing Roncalli Catholic tradition that began in 1989 under A. Len Leavitt and Roncalli Catholic President Emeritus Fr. Lloyd Gnirk as a means to raise funds to support educational opportunities for students. That goal remains the same today. This year, Swing with Pride raised $46,610 to support the school it prepares to resume classes on August 15. 

“We were all extremely excited to see members of the Roncalli Catholic community come out and support our school by selling out this year’s Swing with Pride fundraiser,” Melissa Baumann, events and alumni coordinator, said. 

Participants checked into the event around 10:30 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. lunch and social hour. At noon a shotgun start signaled the beginning of another successful Swing with Pride fundraiser.
