COMPUTER APPLICATIONS I
(Semester)

Prerequisite: None
Requisite: Materials Fee
Students will learn correct keyboarding technique. Applications I is a course intended to develop keying speed, accuracy, correct technique and the application of skill to complete letters, reports, memorandums, and outlines. The students will use the computer software Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft PowerPoint throughout the semester.
COMPUTER APPLICATIONS II (Semester)
Elective Grades 9-12
Prerequisite: Keyboarding I or 8th Grade Test-out
Computer Applications: Students will be able to use basic skill in the areas of word processing, database, spreadsheet, electronic presentation, Internet, electronic communication, graphics, desktop publishing and basic web design. Student will have the opportunities to identify ethical issues pertaining to information systems and to gather information about careers in technology.
COMPUTER SCIENCE I

Prerequisite: Keyboarding I

In this course, students learn how to use a variety of computers to perform common operations needed to support learning in many of their classes. Students write beginning and intermediate programs using the BASIC language. Students also apply computer skills to do the tasks of word processing, data base management, and spreadsheet creation using Apple, Macintosh, UNIX, and IBM systems.
COMPUTER SCIENCE II
(Semester)
Elective Grade 11-12
Prerequisite: Computer Science I
Requisite: Materials Fee
In this advanced computer literacy course, students learn additional ways to use a variety of computers to perform common operations needed to support learning in many of their classes. Students write more advanced and efficient programs using BASIC language operations with subscripted variables, matrixes, and subroutines. Students will create beginning programs using C++ programming.
BUSINESS EDUCATION
ACCOUNTING I
(Year Long)

Prerequisite: None
Accounting I is a year-long course that introduces double-entry accounting, analyzing transaction, journalizing transactions and posting to ledgers, preparing financial statements, preparing payroll, taxes, reports, adjusting and closing entries.
AUTOMATED ACCOUNTING
(Year Long)
Elective Grade 12
Prerequisite: Accounting I; Teacher Recommendation.
This course is developed to use accounting software to journalize transactions for a proprietorship, partnership, and corporation. Students will learn to analyze the financial reports the computer will generate for them. This course is designed for the second year accounting student.
