Roncalli Catholic 11th Annual High Tea
With more than 50 tables filling the Rummel Gymnasium it was a record-breaking year for Roncalli Catholic’s High Tea event. Thanks to the women decked out in their high tea finery (more than 380 in all) over $20,000 was raised to provide a Catholic education for our students in need of tuition assistance.
Special thanks to the Chairs Corinne Anderson and Darcy Wolters, and our 2011 High Tea Committee. Their collective efforts were matched by the marvelous turnout.
Held on Sunday, November 6, the 11th Annual High Tea event featured award-winning Omaha artist Shirley Neary, who presented “Celebrating Creativity Every Day.”
Neary is best known for her art quilts and, more recently, as the owner of the new Cupcake Island. Her extraordinary quilting methods include hand-dyed and hand-printed fabrics as well as appliqué, collage and scanned images. This fall she opened a quilt showroom in Dundee to feature her works.
This event is a Roncalli Catholic tradition that encourages creativity and fun while raising funds for scholarship and tuition grant programs for our students. Each year, Rummel Gymnasium is converted into a large tea room, with Hostesses decorating each table in their own unique theme. From fine china to paper plates, from garden party hats to Husker caps, this event appeals to women of all ages.
Please mark your calendars and plan to join us on Sunday, November 4, 2012 for our next Roncalli Catholic High Tea.
