One of those perfect scores belonged to our very own J. Price Comstock who graduated from Roncalli Catholic in 2011.  He is now a freshman in UNO’s College of Information Science and a Technology.  The second perfect score was earned by Tom Mullen who is a senior at Roncalli Catholic this year.  Mullen is also involved in the school musical, student government and cross country. This success can be somewhat attributed to our challenging and results-oriented ACT prep course, which is offered as part of our English curriculum for our juniors. The ACT test is a nationally recognized college entrance exam covering English, Math, Reading and Science.  The test assesses a student’s educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.  It is often used as a benchmark for college admittance as well as to determine scholarship and grant distribution.   The prep course was added to our curriculum 6 years ago thanks to the generous support of Pat Coyle, a Rummel High School alumni on a mission to help our current students reach their full potential. (All-boys Rummel High School merged with all-girls Notre Dame Academy in 1974 to become the co-ed Roncalli Catholic High School). Players, students and fans can best participate by buying a “Pink Out” event shirt ahead of time and wearing it to the volleyball games. The money raised from the t-shirt sales will go to Liz's Legacy, a charitable program that supports cancer research, education and patient care at the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center.  Click here to download a shirt order form.  Send the form and money to the attention of Ronda Aken at Roncalli Catholic.  Last year’s event raised $600 for the fund.
