“Pride Leader” Scholarships

 

“Pride Leader” Scholarships are available each year for incoming freshmen only.  These scholarships are awarded based upon the leadership qualities the individual has shown and developed in combination with the applicant’s score achieved on the Roncalli Placement Exam.

 

All students who test at Roncalli Catholic High School are encouraged to apply.  Students, who qualify for and receive “Academic” Scholarships to attend Roncalli Catholic, will not be awarded “Pride Leader” Scholarships.  “Pride Leader” Scholarships are awarded to those students who have the highest test scores and highest leadership evaluations but who do not receive “Academic” Scholarships to attend Roncalli Catholic High School.  

 

To be eligible for a “Pride Leader” Scholarship, the student must take the Eighth Grade Placement Exam at Roncalli Catholic High School on the primary testing day.   “Pride Leader” Scholarships are one-year, nonrenewable scholarships at a value of $500.00.

 

After taking the Placement Exam, students may apply for a “Pride Leader” Scholarship by first filling out the application form.  Then, students must send evaluation forms to five adults who are to evaluate the student’s personal leadership qualities.  These adults may be teachers, coaches, school administrators, pastors, youth leaders, employers, etc.  At least one of these evaluations must come from a current teacher or administrator.   However, these adults are not to be related to the applicant.

 

The application form and the five evaluations must be returned to Roncalli Catholic High School by the set deadline for the applicant to be considered.

Recipients of “Pride Leader” Scholarships will be notified and awarded their scholarship the same day as “Academic Scholarships” are awarded.

To Apply

  1. Take the Placement Exam at Roncalli Catholic High School and fill out the above form and send it in.
  2. Ask five adults to fill out recommendation/evaluation forms for you, who know your leadership qualities and abilities.  These people can be teachers, school administrators, coaches, pastors, youth leaders, employers, etc.  At least one of the recommendations must come from a current teacher or administrator.  None of the recommendations can be from someone related to you.  It is recommended that you provide each of these people, a stamped envelope you have pre-addressed with Roncalli Catholic High School’s address on it, so they can mail the recommendation forms directly to Roncalli.
